Personal Branding Takes Centre Stage at 2024 Business and Leadership Conference

Accra, Nov. 20, 2024 – The 2024 Business and Leadership Conference at Regent Ghana University Campus turned its spotlight on how authentic leadership shapes business success in Africa’s digital age. Industry leaders gathered to explore the theme “Empowering African Future: Leadership and Business Strategise for Success.” bringing fresh perspectives on leadership and market growth.

Authenticity: The New Business Currency

“When we talk about brand building in Africa, we’re really talking about trust,” said Wisdom Matey Tetteh, CEO of Visual Lab Media Ltd, during an engaging panel discussion.

“Our research shows companies whose leaders share their authentic stories online build deeper market connections than those relying solely on traditional marketing.”

Tetteh joined a diverse panel including a tech entrepreneur, a language school CEO, and an SDG advocate, and a student each offering unique insights into African business growth.

The Data Behind Digital Leadership

Research shared during the discussion painted a clear picture:

  • Eight in ten consumers trust companies with active executive voices
  • Digital presence shapes investment decisions
  • Personal branding directly impacts market perception

“We’re seeing this play out right here in Ghana,” Tetteh noted. “Take the McDan Group’s success – Dr Daniel McKorley’s active presence helps people connect with the brand story in ways traditional approaches simply can’t match.”

Bridging Strategy and Story

The panel discussion complemented Dr Riverson Oppong’s earlier presentation on his 4Cs framework – Cooperation, Coordination, Communication and Clarity – by exploring practical applications in the digital space.

Key Content Strategies

When asked about effective content themes Founders and CEO’s can leverage to grow their personal brands, Tetteh outlined several focal points:

  • Share authentic industry perspectives
  • Offer glimpses into business operations
  • Document leadership journeys
  • Highlight community impact

Shaping Africa’s Business Future

Organised by Global Edge Solutions Resources alongside Regent Ghana Students’ Parliament, the summit highlighted shifting business dynamics across the continent. The conference, drawing attendees many attendees including students, entrepreneurs, and business owners, showcased evolving approaches to African business leadership.

“African business has unique stories worth telling,” Tetteh emphasized. “When leaders step forward to share these narratives authentically, they’re not just building brands – they’re reshaping how the world sees African enterprise.”
