Accra, December 28, 2024 — In a powerful demonstration of solidarity and social responsibility, Tell It Dads, a dynamic collective of men, extended their compassion through generous donations to the James Camp Prison in Accra and the Tamale Central Prison. This dual initiative aimed to enhance the well-being of inmates in both facilities and was made possible by the collective contributions of the group’s members.
The donations included bags of rice, onions, toothbrushes, bathing soap, toothpaste, groundnut paste, crates of eggs, and dried pepper, all provided through the members’ contributions in cash and kind.
Eric Edem Darbie, an administrator of Tell It Dads, delivered a heartfelt message to the inmates on behalf of the group:
“We believe in the power of unity, and today, we are here to show that we care about you. Our group came together to ensure that your needs are not forgotten, and we want you to know that you are not alone,” he said.
Beyond the material support, the group fostered connection and hope through personal interaction with the inmates. Clarence Nelson, another administrator, shared an inspiring sermon, saying:
“Just walls separate us from those incarcerated. We are here to remind you that we care about you, your well-being, and your future. The Bible teaches us to care for prisoners and the sick, and we are here to fulfil that responsibility.”
The inmates reciprocated with heartfelt thanks, creating an uplifting atmosphere filled with visible joy and hope.
Generosity Reaches Tamale Central Prison
Meanwhile, a separate Tell It Dads team visited the Tamale Central Prison in Ghana’s Northern Region, delivering essential items such as food, toiletries, and other supplies. This local initiative, led by members in the region, reflects the group’s broader mission of extending its impact beyond the Greater Accra Region.
The donation was warmly received, with inmates expressing deep gratitude for the thoughtful contributions that reaffirmed their humanity and dignity.
The dual donations to James Camp Prison and Tamale Central Prison highlight Tell It Dads‘ steadfast commitment to uplifting those most in need. By fostering unity, driving positive change, and bringing hope to marginalised individuals, the group continues to inspire others to act.
